There was a camp at burning man that made grilled cheese all night long. It was gooey and delicious and just what the doctor ordered after dancing, drinking strange drinks, biking around in the dark with your bike covered in coloured LEDs (so you’re not a “dark-wad”), looking at incredible art, and meeting people from all over the world.
It is the perfect food to tide you over until the sun comes up. Where you and thousands of strangers cheer and celebrate as the horizon starts to glow, and the black of night becomes lighter shades of blue, until the the huge cheer of the crowd (you can feel in your chest) when the sun finally peeks out. She is greeted with so much collective joy it brings me to tears. Every time.
Now with the sun up, it is time to get some sleep.
