I’ll be totally honest, I had no idea who won or that it was over. If the Leafs ever do anything of note, I will pay attention to that but other wise, it’s off my radar. My ex-husband was a HUGE TV sports guy, so after I left him my TV almost never has sports on it. Does Ted Laso count?
I love live sports! I take my kids to our local farm hockey team and we have a great time. And the hockey is really good! Last time we went we were on the edge of seats, there were so many penalties and it ended with a team on team brawl. lol
I want to get my middle guy down to an NFL game in Seattle (I tried to go last year, but there were too many covid restrictions).
How’s this for a very non-Canadian thing to say… if I had to choose I would pick the NFL to watch over the NHL. I just hate the playoffs in the NHL, it’s never ending. There are SO many games in a series, it makes it boring (to me). NFL it is one and done. You give it everything you have for that one game to move forward and it’s exciting!! So yeah, the Super Bowl is way more fun to me than the Stanley Cup.
I enjoy live baseball too. When I was single before I met my ex-husband, I had moved to a new city for work and would go to the local baseball farm team games. I would sit there by myself, with my one beer, and learned how to take score on a score card from a group of long time fans. I went all summer that year, and enjoyed the comradery of the regulars and the baseball.
With the car racing stuff, again, I take my kids out the local raceway and we watch crazy stuff like drag racing, or my neighbour’s (who may just be one of the loveliest people on the planet) stock car races. He came in second one year and we all lost our minds for him, it was awesome! He is always out working on his car.
