We were talking about the future and all the things we want to do together while we rode the chair lift to the top.
“Why didn’t you find me sooner!?” S/he teases me. And then, before I can respond back says, “I could live 100 lifetimes and I’d still want more time with you.”
We snuggled closer to each other, and touched our heads together, looking into each other’s eyes through our ski goggles. I found I couldn’t say anything because of the tightness in my throat. I can feel the clock running down, life moves so quickly, but I’m holding on to our moments. Treasuring them.
For a person who finds sweet words aren’t his forte, s/he surprises me sometimes. In the best way.
