I love this book AND burning man.

When my twins were little I was invited to read at their kindergarten grad party, and my daughter picked the book. It surprised me, her choice, since it was so perfectly poignant. There is a picture of me reading it to the class and I’m making a funny face, because I believe reading to kids involves lots of animation and ridiculous voices when called for.

I’m going to buy my oldest a copy for when he moves out. I think I’ll do that for each of them.
