sometimes i really wish that some of you would step back and think about how whenever you post about submissive boys/men and describe them being pretty, dainty, fragile, delicate, frilly, feminine etc. i don’t think some of you really, truly understand that submissiveness isn’t inherently feminine and that some boys/men don’t want to be described with femininity when they are submissive.
there’s nothing wrong with being feminine, submissive, and a masc-identifying person. however i think we should recognize that this isn’t the case for everyone. i think it leads to a lot of infantilization for boys, men, and masc-identifying ppl, ESPECIALLY when those people are trans.
in other words, submission isn’t always about being pretty and small and dainty and fragile. submission is about yielding to your partner/s, and it can and does look like many other things.
I agree with the spirit of this. Although I love seeing words which utterly do not need to be associated with gender slowly evolving and being reformed.
I use the word ‘pretty’ a lot but it never means ‘feminine’ in my mind. It’s a word of fondness, how I see boys who are precious and lovely to me; something treasured and pleasant that I want to hold. It doesn’t matter if they have full beards or if they’d be 6’ tall and jacked. I can’t think of another word which would have the same endearing and admiring quality.
Words of endearment, for me as well. Not about gender, but about the wonderful human in front of me.
