It is snowing outside. And I’m cozy in bed.

The ice storm has subsided and the world is a glittery, cold wonderland, even with the big soft flakes falling.

Chatting with a friend this morning about relationships, and the outdated belief systems we have around them has certainly given me food for thought. Sure, there are some people who are a one-person-monogamy-is-the-best kind of people, but in my experience most people aren’t. And for those of us stepping out into different relationship models, our sword and shield are communication and compassion when dealing with issues.

How many people do you know in monogamous relationships with great communication and compassion. Sadly, for me, I don’t know many. There always seem to be secret lives going on. Whether it is here on tumblr, or in the real world.

Just thoughts floating around in my mind as I watch the snow fall.
