Klimt:
Lady with a Muff, Dame mit Muff (1916–17)
Oil on Canvas. Size: 50 by 50 cm
National Gallery in Prague
Just a little bit attention for a painting that is not shown often. And that was also impossible for until a few years ago. This painting was last displayed in 1926. It had been considered as lost.
However, it seems it had remained part of private Czech collection since the 30s of the 20th century.
The anonymous owner agreed to loan the painting to the National Gallery in Prague. It was unveiled there on 27th june in 2014. At the National Gallery in Prague there are also two other Klimt paintings, Water Castle (1908) and the famous The Virgin (1914). We can only hope some day more lost paintings of Klimt may resurface again…
In the comments (later) a picture of the unveiling in Prague in 2014.
