We were waiting inline at the vaccination centre for my people’s second dose a while back, and we’re all wearing masks (naturally), talking about cartoons we loved watching together.
“Mystery Incorporated is under rated. That show is fire.” says my middle guy, who towers over all of us. We all make noises of agreement.
“You can’t talk about Scooby Doo without giving a shout out to ‘Scooby Doo Meets KISS’ – which started my love of all things KISS, and then guitar. That show slaps!” contributes my youngest son, who at 13 blows my mind with his guitar playing and singing.
We all agree, and then, as if it were planned, we all start humming I Was Made For Lovin’ You. Which caused some other masked people to hum. And you couldn’t see who was joining in, because of the masks, but it made us crack right up.
When we get back to the car, my oldest loaded the song in and we all sang along, loudly.
It was just a fun, parenting moment that, well, kinda rocked.
