The Happy Homewrecker 😉
I’m thinking seriously about separately blogging my reno. Tonight I finished up taking down the last of the dry wall (on the walls… The ceiling is another matter), putting in a plain porcelain base and removing the old light fixture, and finally taking out the tub. A huge freaking job, and if you ever have to do it, find a helper. 🙂
Boy-side is out with his wife tonight celebrating her birthday. They are doing a club night out, hotel, the works. They stayed at the same hotel we did for new years. In fact (if you read my new years post this will make more sense) the bellman recognized him, and thought his wife was me. Imagine with me how well that went over…
I have decided that I am really happy that his wife doesn’t want any kind of friendship or politeness with me. I had tried at Christmas time to reach out. I gave her a gift that was small, handcrafted that was useful and beautiful. I wrote a card, saying Merry Christmas and I hoped she’d enjoy the gift. Boy-side waited to give it to her, for a moment when she would be most receptive. She read the card and told him no. No response to be sent back. No, no thank you, or thanks for the thought but I’m not comfortable with you in my life, nothing.
We all have the right to have the people we don’t want in our lives, not there. We should all have the people who lift us up the most, surround us. But it’s just so rude to not say anything… And it *was* really bugging me that she just ignores that I exist. But I can honestly say, now that I know more about her, hear about what she does, how she acts, I m glad.
He loves her to distraction, seems to happily put up with her grouchy/bitchy nature. When she says jump… You know the drill. Happily. He does it wishing she’d be more affectionate and loving. Or at least that is how it all looks from here. Twists my heart up sometimes.
I hope he’s having a great night. I really, truly do. There is a part of me that hopes she wakes the fuck up and loves him properly.
I’m ready to close my eyes and dream about a finished bathroom.
