Hee! 🙂 These are so easy and delicious – one of my favourite Christmas cookies to make. And if you make a bunch you can freeze them too (dear god, they are good right out of the freezer!). My sister gave me this recipe years ago and I make it every year without fail.
1 cup of butter
½ cup of icing sugar
¼ cup of corn starch
1 and ½ cups of flour
½ teaspoon vanilla
Preheat oven to 325F. Cream butter with mixer. Sift the dry ingredients together, gradually add to the butter. Continue to whip until light and fluffy, like whipped cream. Add vanilla, blend thoroughly. Drop by the teaspoon on ungreased cookie sheet. Top with coloured sprinkles or a piece of candied cherry. bake for 12- 15 minutes. Be careful not to over bake, the cookies should not be brown at all. Cool on the sheet for a few minutes, carefully remove to cooling rack (they are a little fragile when they are warm). Cool Completely, store in covered container. Enjoy!
Let me know what you think!
